Description

Article no.: LBMX

These Mesh radios are available in three different models:

The LBM is the mid-range model in Braver Systems’ LBM (Low Bandwidth Mesh) series, positioned between the compact LBMK and the larger LBME. The radio connects to a cell phone, tablet, laptop, or computer (EUD) via USB-C or Bluetooth and transmits location data, messages, and waypoints—all AES256-encrypted—without requiring a cellular network.

The LBM features a female TNC connector for an external antenna—a significantly more stable connector standard than SMA—allowing you to choose your own antenna as needed. A TNC-optimized gooseneck antenna for the EU 868 MHz band is included; additional antennas can be purchased separately.

The housing is made of 1.5 mm black anodized aluminum with PA11 end caps, built to withstand water and impacts. Sacrificial “horns” protect the radio from impacts and hold it in place with bungee mounts.

The USB-C port for charging and flashing, or the USB connector with EUD, has an IP67-rated cover; straight and angled EUD cables (90°) can be purchased separately.

Control is simplified to a single knob: turn in any direction from the OFF position to activate the mesh network (MANET); align the dots to confirm connection—all without looking.

LBM works with open-source software such as Meshtastic, MeshCore, and ATAK (via the LANCE plugin) and is designed for professional and civilian use: emergency services, law enforcement, the military, event security, hunting teams, and off-road/overlanding groups.

Just like the LBM, the LBME features a TNC female connector for an external antenna, allowing you to choose your own antenna. The difference from the LBM is a longer casing and a larger battery, making the LBME the top choice when endurance over time is more important than compact size.

All LBM units come with a Pro license for the LANCEPLUGIN for ATAK, which establishes a direct connection with the radio’s firmware and transmits over 1,600 standard symbols via the mesh to the map—including NATO symbols as well as all types of lines, circles, and freehand drawings.

Sync to the mesh using ATAK’s situation wheel, or enter the plugin and sync the desired data to reduce your radio signature, or press “sync all” and let the data propagate across the mesh.

For those with an EUD connected to an ATAK server, data can be automatically synchronized to the server in both directions, allowing two teams to operate 100 km apart using two local meshes—each with a Starlink—and have each other’s teams visible on the map.

When you purchase LBM, redeem your LBM’s serial number for a PRO license as specified in the Google Play Store.
