BRVR Systems LBM — Low Bandwidth Mesh Radio

Off-grid mesh networking with full ATAK integration

The BRVR Systems LBM is a rugged, low-bandwidth MANET mesh radio designed to keep teams connected when conventional cellular or internet infrastructure is unavailable.

The LBM creates a self-forming mesh network between radios, allowing messages, locations, waypoints and tactical map data to move across the network without relying on a cellular network. Communication is AES-256 encrypted, providing secure data transport in demanding field environments.

Built for ATAK

The LBM is fully integrated with ATAK through the LANCE Plugin, giving users the ability to transmit tactical information directly across the mesh.

With the included LANCE Pro license, users can send more than 1,600 standard map symbols through the mesh, including NATO symbology, lines, circles and freehand drawings. This allows teams to share positions, marks and other operational information directly on their ATAK maps.

Data can be selectively synchronized using the ATAK situation wheel or through the LANCE interface, allowing operators to control what information is transmitted and helping minimize unnecessary radio traffic.

For larger or distributed teams, ATAK systems connected to an ATAK server can also synchronize information between separate mesh networks. This makes it possible for teams operating on different local meshes to share their operational picture when the networks are connected through an external IP link such as Starlink.

True mesh networking

The LBM is designed around Low Bandwidth Mesh Networking (MANET). Instead of requiring every user to maintain a direct connection to a central base station, information can travel through other nodes in the network.

This allows the network to extend beyond the direct radio range between individual users and provides a decentralized communications architecture suitable for teams operating across challenging terrain.

The network can be activated directly from the radio using its single control knob, making operation simple even when wearing gloves or operating without looking at the device.

Connects directly to your EUD

The LBM connects to smartphones, tablets, laptops and other End User Devices (EUDs) through USB-C or Bluetooth.

This allows the radio to act as the off-grid communications link for applications such as ATAK, while the user's existing device provides the display, mapping and user interface.

Rugged field design

The LBM features a 1.5 mm anodized aluminum housing, PA11 end caps and impact-protection horns designed to protect the radio during field use.

An IP67-rated cover protects the USB-C connection, while the external female TNC antenna connector provides a robust antenna interface and allows users to select an antenna suited to their particular application.

The LBM includes a TNC-compatible gooseneck antenna optimized for the EU 868 MHz band.
